In Memoriam of Elaine Kilbourne, our beloved teacher who passed away on 14 June 2014. She was both a mentor and inspiration to many of her students at Anacostia High School. She taught at Anacostia HS (1948–1968), Wooten HS (1980–1994), and the University of Maryland (1968–1979).
Guy Toscano (1963 Anacostia class) had the great pleasure to have a brick paver—inscribed to her memory as a dedicated teacher—installed at his and my Alma Mater University of Maryland at the Samuel Riggs IV Alumni Center. The brick paver (number G-2) is actually located at the fountain in the Moxley Gardens which is adjacent to the Alumni Center. May she rest in peace and in the hearts of those who loved her!
